The Z-Com Creative! Blog
I've had a chance to really dig into Google+ the past few weeks, and it's an interesting critter.
What I really like:
- Total control over who you follow and why. That's great.
- Tighter integration with the rest of the web. Facebook is a closed ecosystem, although many (including Z-Com's) websites now feature Facebook integration. But all that does is facilitate the integration of your website into Facebook's ecosystem.
What I don't love:
We're now offering a semi-customizable solution for nonprofits looking for a lot of functionality, a fast deployment time, and a pretty deep discount over a fully custom solution. We're calling it "Association in a Box". This is what you get:
Z-Com Creative is growing fast, and we're looking for both experienced Drupal contractors as well as opening up a few internship opportunities.
Technical Requirements
• Extremely firm grasp of Drupal 6 configuration.
We've launched our latest version of University Animal Hospital's website, featuring updated art direction and dramatically improved structure and functionality all around. We've also done some cool tricks with feeding content to Facebook. Go check it out and let us know what you think!
We've already upgraded most of our clients to 6.20, but if we haven't done you yet, please let us know. There are no security updates in 6.20; this is mostly a housekeeping thing.
In addition, Drupal 7.0 has officially launched. Pretty exciting stuff! But, much like the 5.x to 6.x transition, not all the functionality you find in 6.x has found its way into 7.0 yet. We'll be deploying upgrades to 7.0 probably later in the year, or early next year, but only when we can do it smoothly and without losing any vital functionality.
