University Animal Hospital
University Animal Hospital is the largest and most successful veterinarian practice in Tempe and one of the longest-operating in Arizona. Owner Thomas Gus is a forward-thinking business owner who understood the value of engaging with the online community at a very early date.
Z-Com Creative has built three iterations of the UAH website over the years. This latest version is built on the Drupal platform and features extremely easy-to-use website management tools. The site’s vast content is now handled by a former technician. UAH offers a resource database of articles several hundred items deep, easily searched and indexed by topic.
The site serves several major functions for UAH: First and foremost, it collects various forms from clients – requests for appointments, prescription refills, boarding dates and so on. It drives prospective client traffic to a “New Clients” page, featuring various incentives for pet owners looking for a vet. Registered users can submit requests for pet placement assistance and other benefits. We also deployed a mobile version of the site for our smartphone visitors.
Universityvet.com is also tied into their social media strategy. There is a Facebook “Like” box built right into the site template. All news and special offers posted to the website are syndicated to their Facebook page. They also run regular contests just for Facebook fans (around 1200 and counting), announced by a pay-per-click campaign we manage for the client.
Universityvet.com receives about 3000 visits/month (including more than 200 mobile users a month and growing) and earns the client about $10,000/month in conversions.

I understood the importance of having an Internet presence but did not have the time or expertise to accomplish it. Paul created a great web site and we have built off of that to incorporate Facebook and other on-line marketing strategies.
We wanted to create an online presentation of who University Veterinary Hospital really is. Generally once a potential client makes it through our front door and experience our service they are sold and become a client forever. We wanted the same effect when someone entered our web site and Facebook site.
Paul tailored his knowledge to meet our specific and unique needs. Ever month when I review our stats on new clients I am amazed how our numbers have changed from years past. It is a new age and paper phone books are not where its at anymore.
